Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and submit medical claims to insurance companies promptly and accurately.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims, identifying and resolving any issues causing delays in payment.
• Process payments from insurance companies and patients, posting them accurately in the billing system.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary pre-authorizations for medical procedures.
• Ensure accurate entry of patient insurance information and demographics in the billing system.
• Possess a strong understanding of VOBs (Verification of Benefits) and Authorization processes.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to obtain and track necessary authorizations for medical services.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of CPT and ICD-10 codes on medical claims.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations to maintain compliance.
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve billing issues.
• Provide excellent customer service to address inquiries related to billing and accounts receivable.
• Documentation and Reporting.
• Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all billing activities.
• Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status, claim denials, and other relevant metrics.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including healthcare providers and administrative staff, to streamline billing processes and enhance overall efficiency.
• Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations, billing codes, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Billing/Accounts Receivable.
• Strong knowledge of VOBs and Authorization processes.
• Proficient in using billing software like Epic.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
